Committee for restructuring, privatisation of public companies holds first session

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic chaired the first session of the Committee for restructuring and privatisation of public companies held on July 11 at the Serbian government.
The Committee unanimously endorsed the privatisation process of the public company Jat Airways and the Serbian Privatisation Agency will begin the procedure for electing privatisation advisor.
By end-July the government will decide to begin the privatisation procedure for Jat Tehnika. Before this company is privatised, it is necessary that Jat Airways transfers its ownership rights over Jat Tehnika to the Republic of Serbia.
The Committee also decided against privatisation of the public company Nikola Tesla Airport and stressed the importance of this company’s cooperation with foreign partners regarding the construction of a cargo centre.
It was also decided that a working group for resolving open property-related issues between Jat Airways, Jat Tehnika, Nikola Tesla Airport and Flight Control Agency should be formed.
