State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija Dusan Prorokovic said that violation of international law and hasty resolution of Kosovo's status could harm the political and security situation in the region as a whole, and not only in the province.
That is something which UN member states must keep in mind, adding that the security situation in the province even today is not good.
There are various forms of discrimination, lack of freedom of movement and other freedoms that are guaranteed everywhere in the world, except for Serbs and other non-Albanians living in Kosovo-Metohija.
The UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) is partly to blame for the fact that right now there is no political and security framework in Kosovo because it has failed to apprehend perpetrators of many crimes, while some of the international structures in the province have dealt more with setting up interim organs of self-government than with implementing UN Resolution 1244, Prorokovic said.
