A visit to Slovenia was of high importance, with Slovenian officials expressing readiness to share their European Union accession experience with Serbia and warn of how harmonisation with EU regulations can harm the electricity market, said Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Radomir Naumov.

Naumov said he met with Slovenian Minister of the Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy Janez Kopac to discuss ways to improve cooperation in the electricity sector.
Slovenia is interesting in entering the Serbian electricity market, Naumov told the Tanjug news agency, adding that the Ministry would like Slovenia to win EU-financed electricity projects in Serbia.
According to Serbian Deputy Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Vlajcic, the two sides also discussed ways to harmonise seasonal electricity consumption and regulate electricity trade.
Slovenia and Serbia are also mulling a joint project to construct a 400 KW transmission line, Vlajcic added.
