June retail prices up by 0.6% on average

The Serbian Statistics Office said today that retail prices in Serbia in June 2007 went up by 0.6% against the previous month, with the prices of goods and services rising 0.8% and 0.2% respectively.
Compared to December 2006, June retail prices went up by 4.2%.
The cost of living in Serbia this month rose by 0.4% on average against the previous month and 3.4% against December 2006. The discrepancy between the increase in the index of retail prices and the index of cost of living was due to different impacts of growth in prices for individual items on the overall index.
Prices of agricultural products fell by 8.1%. The changes in prices of fresh fruit and vegetables are customary for this period.
The costs of industrial foodstuffs went up by 0.1% on average, in which sector an insignificant variation of prices was observed.
The prices of beverages rose 0.4% and tobacco prices went up by 5.6%.
The prices of non-food industrial products rose by 1.5% on average and the price increase was here marked for oil derivatives and certain types of medicines.
The prices of services increased by 0.2% on average, whereas prices of other products saw no significant change.
