Opening the 18th St Vitus Poetical Communion in the Gracanica monastery, Samardzic said that there is a realistic danger for Kosovo to be separated from Serbia, noting that those who wish to do that intend to carry out their idea by way of enforcement and seizure.
Our response is single. We will fight with all disposable means so as to prevent something like that, and we will do that like a civilised country and people, said Samardzic.
He said that if we have faith in ourselves, success is guaranteed, noting that success means keeping Kosovo within Serbia with its internal self-government.
The Minister said that this is a historic moment for Serbs and Serbia as Kosovo, being a particular part of the Serbian spiritual and state being, is jeopardised and therefore the southern Serbian province must be defended for the sake of Serbia.
Bishop of Raska and Prizren Artemije said on the occasion of 618 years from the Battle of Kosovo that the battle is still ongoing noting that this is its final stage. He called on Serbs to persevere and to remain on their ancestors’ land.
The ceremony was also attended by Serbian Minister of Religion Radomir Naumov, President of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Vuko Antonijevic and Serbian Patriarch Pavle’s envoy Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije.
