The US obliged to respect Resolution 1244

Advisor to the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Simic voiced hope today that the US will respect the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and therefore the fact that Kosovo-Metohija is an integral part of Serbia.

Commenting on the statement of US Ambassador to Serbia Michael Polt that the latest draft resolution on Kosovo is the last chance to move forward in the process of resolution of the province's status, Simic said that the US government is obliged to respect Resolution 1244.
Simic told the Tanjug news agency that the US naturally is not required to force Kosovo-Metohija to remain part of Serbia, but we remind them that they are required to respect Resolution 1244 which guarantees inviolability of Serbia's borders and its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
