Keeping macro economic stability government's main task

Serbian Minister of Finance Mirko Cvetkovic said today that the Serbian government's main task is to maintain the country's macro economic stability.

In an introductory note at the international conference "Future of the capital market in the Balkans: alternative ways of investment", Cvetkovic said that plans for maintaining macro economic stability will be outlined in the 2007 budget, currently being prepared by the government.
The Minister explained that the government should adopt the budget in the middle of June, and following its adoption by Serbian parliament, it should come into force on July 1.
Cvetkovic expressed satisfaction with the work of the Belgrade Stock Exchange and said that it is very important that its indexes are showed at the Vienna Stock Exchange, which is a chance for the Serbian capital market to be promoted outside the country.
Director of the Belgrade Stock Exchange Gordana Dostanic said that the Serbian capital market is growing, which shows that investment climate in Serbia is good.
