President of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Vuko Antonijevic said today that priorities of the Centre will be survival of Serbs and non-Albanian population in Kosovo-Metohija, functioning of Serbian institutions in the province and providing help to internally displaced persons who return.
Antonijevic, who was appointed president of the Coordinating Centre at the previous session of the Serbian government, stressed in a statement for the Radio “Kontakt Plus” in Kosovska Mitrovica that the foremost aim of the Centre and the Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija is to give as much help as possible to Serbs and non-Albanian population in the province, and also to fight to safeguard Serbia’s territorial integrity.
He pointed to the fact that one of the main tasks of the Centre will be employing young persons with the aim to help them survive in the province, and to reduce the class differences among the population, in which it is very important what sort of budget the Serbian government will adopt for the province.
It is also planned that economic resources in stagnation are mobilised again, and help is provided through the programme for self-employment for the young and those who have started small private businesses, said Antonijevic.
He said that the Coordinating Center will open an office in Kosovska Mitrovica in order to make work on the ground easier.
