Compromise solution for Kosovo-Metohija to be found through constant dialogue

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said today that countries which support the plan presented by UN Special Envoy Marti Ahtisaari for solving the issue of Kosovo-Metohija should be ready to face the consequences which the implementation of such a plan will have for their own countries.

In a statement to the news agency Beta, Kostunica stressed that considering the fact that not even a single of these countries will accept that Ahtisaari’s plan may also be applied to them, it seems completely unacceptable that they attempt to impose this plan only upon Serbia.
According to Kostunica, Serbia has absolutely rejected Ahtisaari’s plan and clearly stated that only the UN Charter is valid for Serbia, as it is for any other UN member state.
The Serbian Prime Minister pointed to the fact that a compromise solution issuing from the UN Charter should be found for Kosovo-Metohija through patient and constant dialogue instead of Ahtisaari’s plan.
