Serbia’s foreign policy based on bilateral relations with US, Russia, EU

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic said today that Serbia plans to base its foreign policy on a triangle of bilateral relations with the US, EU, and Russia.

At a panel discussion held to mark 125 years of diplomatic relations between Serbia and the US, held in the organisation of the Harvard Club of Serbia in the National Library of Serbia, Jeremic said that the US is Serbia’s important partner, especially regarding the issues of security and defence, as well as in the areas of economy and culture.
The Minister said that he believes in the partnership and alliance between the US and Serbia in the future, and added that Serbia’s relations with the US have gone through difficult phases, but they are also characterised by a joint struggle for shared values.
US Ambassador to Serbia Michael Polt, representative of the Serbian Unity Congress in the USA Ivana Cerovic and President of the Harvard Club of Serbia Mary Black also participated in the panel discussion.
