Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic expressed assurances last night that Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) talks will resume in not more than three to four weeks.
Djelic told Studio B television that continuation of SAA talks depends on whether Serbia will assure the EU that it is doing everything in its power to extradite the remaining indictees to the Hague tribunal.
He stressed that Serbian authorities will have to prove to Brussels that the newly formed Council for National Security cooperates with security services and that security services will have to exchange intelligence with the Hague tribunal.
According to him, concrete steps of the Serbian government should include appointing a new head of the Security and Intelligence Agency (BIA).
The government is aware what The Hague expects and knows that fulfillment of our international obligations is the best road to Europe.
He stressed that the government started work two days ago in full capacity and added that two sessions have taken place so far. He announced that the budget will be voted in parliament soon.
