Exhumation of mortal remains of unidentified persons at Smederevo, Pancevo, Kovin cemeteries

The Serbian government’s Commission for Missing Persons stated that exhumations of unidentified persons will take place at cemeteries in Smederevo, Pancevo and Kovin from May 8 to 10.
The mortal remains were found in the Danube River in the areas of Smederevo and Pancevo municipal courts in the period from 1991 to 1995.
Experts from the Institute for Court Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade will take DNA samples for analysis.
Monitoring will be forensics from Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Macedonia and representatives of the International Commission on Missing Persons, the International Committee of the Red Cross, OSCE Mission and Office of the ICTY in Belgrade.
