Ovcar Banja ring-road near Cacak inaugurated

Serbian Minister for Capital Investment Velimir Ilic inaugurated today the newly constructed Ovcar Banja ring-road near Cacak, which was built with an investment worth RSD 646 million by the public road company Putevi Srbije from funds provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB).

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, which was also attended by representatives and citizens of the Zlatiborski and Moravicki Districts, Ilic said that the half century old dream of residents of these areas had been realised, and all those driving along the highway towards the sea can now avoid delays and crowding.
Ilic said that in a period of two months works on part of the road from Borova Glava to Kokin Brod will also be completed, and Serbia will get a better road towards the Mediterranean Sea.
The Ovcar Banja ring-road, which will provide safer travel also has great importance in protection of this tourist spot, is 1,620 metres long, and spans a 436 metre long tunnel through the Kablar Mountain, a bridge over Zapadna Morava River, with access roads.
