Candidate of the Democratic Party Boris Tadic won the total of 1,681,582 votes, and his rival from the Serbian Radical Party Tomislav Nikolic 1,434,068, at 8, 586 polling stations in Serbia (including Kosovo-Metohija) and abroad.
According to RIK, 3,158,571 of 6,532,940 eligible voters cast their ballots. In Kosovo-Metohija, 37,519 citizens of 97,835 who were eligible went to the polls, which is 38.3 percent.
Voters from diaspora went to the polls for the first time. Of 7,977 eligible voters, 4,424 cast their ballots in 33 polling stations.
The RIK said there were no major violations of the provisions of the Law on the election of the president of the republic, so it processed data from all 8, 586 polling stations.
