Stojkovic, who is honorary guest at the conference, told Tanjug that a large number of Serbian laws were created in cooperation with the EU and expressed satisfaction as a great deal of the job has been done.
The Minister announced he will meet with European Commission Vice-President Franco Frattini, who is in charge of negotiations with Serbia regarding the visa regime and readmission.
He also recalled that in its last session, the Serbian government adopted the Information on completed negotiations between the Republic of Serbia and the EU on visa relaxations and readmission and that the EU accepted some of the remarks made by the Serbian side, whereas Serbia did likewise.
Now it will be easy to initial those agreements, after which they will be signed, Stojkovic said.
According to him, the Vienna conference will overview what has been done in harmonisation of legislation and what more needs to be done in that field.
He added that cooperation of authorities in fighting cross-border crime has been improved already noting that participant of the conference will discuss how to further improve cooperation in fighting terrorism, organised and cross-border crime.
Frattini pointed out at the conference that effective legislation and policy require effective debates and that this meeting gives the chance to discuss important issues of the joint Europe.
Austrian Minister for Justice Maria Berger pointed out to the importance of a joint EU judiciary and the legal framework for a peaceful life together.
Before the conference, Minister Stojkovic met briefly with Austrian President Heinz Fischer, Austrian Minister for Justice Maria Berger and German Minister of Justice Brigitte Zypries.
The three-day conference in Vienna gathered nearly 1,200 lawyers from 40 countries.
