Serbian Minister of Interior Dragan Jocic stated that Western Balkan interior ministers agreed today in Budapest that only through professional cooperation and data exchange between police departments in the region can organised crime be suppressed and border control improved.
Minister Jocic attended a ministerial conference of Western Balkans interior ministers in Budapest and in a statement to the Tanjug news agency said that all conference participants stated the problems they are faced with in fighting organised crime and presented ways to solve them, as well as the already achieved successes.
Jocic said that he told his counterparts that Serbia will give maximum contribution to fighting organised crime in the region and the Serbian police will keep cooperating with other regional police forces.
He added that they also discussed the development of the border police, border management and control, illegal emigration, asylum-related issues and harmonisation of legislation in this area.
