Dimitrijevic said on the occasion of opening the fair that this is an important fair in South East Europe which will include more than 200 accompanying events this year, and it is estimated that the number of visitors will be over 40,000.
He stressed that the priority of Serbian tourism is investment in hotel accommodation and infrastructure, in which areas some €50 million will be invested.
Dimitrijevic recalled that the aim of Serbian tourism is that by 2015, foreign currency proceeds from tourism, which could be up to $500 million this year, should stand at $2 billion.
This year for the first time, Austria, Israel, Poland and Indonesia are also taking part in the fair, and a joint exhibition will also be held by tourism agencies from Italy.
Tourism agencies from Thailand and Brazil will also take part in the fair, and in a special section of hall 14, promotion for big cities will be held, while the tourism offer of Montenegro will cover the entire space of hall 3.
