Bubalo talks with World Bank representatives

Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo talked today with World Bank Regional Coordinator for Europe and Central Asia Orsalia Kalantzopoulos.
The Ministry of Economy says in a statement that the meeting concerned the realisation of the World Bank’s IBRD and IDA loans intended for financing the project “Regional Development of RTB Bor”. The project is to support the resolution of social issues which arose due to the region’s several-year long stagnation period and the restructuring process of the Bor mining and metallurgical complex, and help carry out emergency clear-up of inherited environmental issues and support the development of the private sector.
Also present at the meeting was Director of the World Bank’s office in Serbia Karolin Jungr.
The Ministry of Economy’s efforts to solve RTB Bor’s issues have been positively assessed and the World Bank will keep monitoring the privatisation process and supporting projects which will help strengthen Serbia’s stability, adds the statement.
