Serbian Minister of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic said today that the Czech Republic is an inspiring partner for Serbia and pointed to the importance of promoting trade and economic relations between the two countries.
Parivodic, who is on a visit to the Czech Republic, told Tanjug that Czechs are interested in the energy sector, which investments of Cez in the Serbian energy system shows. He also added that Czech experiences are interesting for Serbian reforms.
He stressed that Cez will be among bidders vying for Kolubara B thermal plant in Lazarevac and recalled that the Czech investment in Zajecar thermal plant is worth €70 million.
The Minister said that yesterday
he met with Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Martin Riman and visited the Czech Industry and Transport Association, whose representatives showed interest in leading a delegation of Czech businessmen to Serbia in September.
The experiences of the Czech Republic are very interesting because this country had €11 billion in foreign direct investments in 2006, and the outlook is that this year that figure will grow to €15 billion, Parivodic explained.
He added that he also met with Serbian businessmen who made big commercial companies in the Czech Republic and who expressed interest in helping the connection between the Serbian and Czech economies.
