Referring to the latest data obtained during last week's visit to the province, Raskovic-Ivic said that the most prominent are the lack of security and freedom for the Serbian population in the province.
She underlined that it is necessary that competent authorities of the Republic of Serbia take part in the process of reconstruction and protection of Serbian cultural, historical and spiritual monuments because they can provide the crucial expert initiative.
Davis expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Council of Europe's initiative for respecting the Convention on Prevention of Torture and Other Inhuman or Degrading Treatments or Punishment gives results in Kosovo-Metohija.
He pointed to the problems regarding the lack of adequate institutions for housing mental patients, organised crime, human trafficking and exploitation of labour force in the province.
He welcomed the care which the Coordinating Centre provides to non-Albanian communities in the province - the Gorani and Roma.
The meeting with the Council of Europe Secretary-General was also attended by Serbian Ambassador to the Council of Europe Sladjana Prica and Serbian Assistant Foreign Minister Dejan Sahovic.
