The opening of the centre was financed through the Belgrade–Bratislava Fund in the amount of approximately €100,000. The centre is actually an office for providing assistance to employees at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, as well as other interested government institutions, as regards information related to Serbia’s EU association process in the field of agriculture.
The Centre will coordinate the activities of the EU Integration Department, the World Trade Organisation and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management in the field of international cooperation.
The interested parties will be able to obtain information on the process of Serbia's accession into the EU in the field of achieving agriculture-related requirements, and they will also have an opportunity to use publications and magazines printed in the EU.
Golubovic pointed to the fact that this Info Centre will give Ministry employees and agriculturists an opportunity to gain complete information important for timely and speedy adoption of decisions and laws which are necessary for Serbia to enter the EU.
The Slovak Ambassador to Serbia Igor Furdik said that this project is an important step for Serbia on the way to the EU, and voiced hope that Serbia and the Slovak Republic will continue with cooperation in projects.
According to Furdik, there are also opportunities for cooperation on a regional level so that those end users receive the necessary support.
