Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said today it is crystal clear that there is not a single argument to support the idea that ethnic-Albanian minority on Serbia’s territory should form another Albanian state, adding that this would be a direct violation of UN Charter and principles of international law.

In a statement to the Tanjug news agency on occasion of the third anniversary of the pogrom over Kosovo Serbs, Kostunica said that the project to create independent Kosovo is completely based on violence, threats and constant ethnic cleansing of Serbs and other non-ethnic Albanians.
Serbian Prime Minister recalled that the horrible violence and terror committed by ethnic Albanians three years ago was in fact an attempt to complete the ethnic cleansing process. He also added that banishment of Serbs and violence over them are taking place even today and almost on a daily basis.
Kostunica pointed out the increasing number of threats according to which if Serbia rejects Ahtisaari’s plan, ethnic Albanian separatists will again resort to mass terror.
We are not only threatened with violence, but the responsibility for the violence of ethnic Albanian separatists is in advance being shifted to their prospective victims because they will not fulfill the terrorists’ demands of their own free will, stressed the Prime Minister.
Kostunica also said that at the Security Council session scheduled for March 19, Serbia will categorically demand that in line with explicit provisions of Resolution 1244, the safety of Serbs and other non-ethnic Albanians in Kosovo-Metohija be guaranteed.
He stressed that Serbia will particularly demand that any form of violence on the part of Albanian terrorists be prevented and most severely punished.
