Newly-appointed magistrates take their oaths

Newly-appointed magistrates took oaths of office today before Serbian Minister of Justice Zoran Stojkovic at the Serbian parliament building.

A total of 56 municipal magistrates and three judges of the magistrates’ council took their oaths.
Stojkovic said that the magistrates will be appointed for approximately one year thus covering the period before magistrate courts are formed.
Once legal regulations are in accordance with the Constitution, the High Judicial Council will make the final selection of magistrates, explained Stojkovic.
The Minister congratulated the newly-appointed judges and said he expects their work to be more efficient once the network of magistrate courts in Serbia is established.
