At this meeting held in Geneva, Draskovic pointed out that the UN Security Council must not be the protector of the violation of its basic principles and human rights.
In his talks with foreign ministers of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Luxembourg Jean Asselborn, Slovenia Dimitrij Rupel and Hungary Kinga Goncz, Draskovic described the termination of the Vienna talks on the future status of Kosovo as a fiasco and an escape from a compromise, and not the fault of the Serbian side.
UN Special Envoy for Kosovo-Metohija Martti Ahtisaari proposed a one-sided resolution which is in the interest of ethnic Albanians alone; however, there can be no stable Kosovo-Metohija or any progress for Albanians themselves if they are in enmity with Serbia and if the entire region becomes unstable, stressed the Serbian foreign affairs minister.
He expounded his position in great detail in his speech at the UN Security Council's plenary session at which all top representatives of member countries were present, adds the statement.
