Kostunica said that a number of amendments submitted by the Belgrade team, and primarily those concerning territorial integrity, were not taken into account in UN Special Envoy Martti Ahtisaari's altered proposal for Kosovo-Metohija status settlement.
"The position of the Serbian delegation is clear. Every part of Ahtisaari's plan that generally or individually breaches Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity simply cannot be accepted", said the Prime Minister.
Kostunica said that Ahtisaari's new proposal, which Belgrade and Pristina delegations will discuss today, has only been slightly altered.
He stressed that no free and democratic country would let a portion of its territory to be severed from it.
"Not one free and democratic state would let others question its territorial integrity. Serbia is doing the same thing and in doing so it is relying on international law and its principles", said Kostunica and stressed that sovereignty and territorial integrity were doubly guaranteed to Serbia with the UN Charter and UN Security Council's Resolution 1244, both of which are still in force.
He also said that for Serbia the status of Kosovo-Metohija is "completely unquestionable" and there can be no discussion about it.
Serbia is participating in the talks on the province's future status, however there are matters that cannot be discussed, and no democratic country in the world would allow such discussions, concluded Kostunica.
