Coordinator of the state negotiating team for Kosovo-Metohija future status talks Leon Kojen said last night that UN Special Envoy Martti Ahtisaari will certainly change his proposal for Kosovo status settlement and send it to Belgrade and Pristina by March 7.
Kojen said to Pink Television that Ahtisaari confirmed he would amend his proposal and added that it is unacceptable that Serbian companies are given to Albanians.
Citing the European Declaration of Human Rights and following the practice of the European Court of Human Rights, Serbian legal experts Dejan Popovic and Dragor Hiber in a discussion with UNMIK’s legal advisor pointed out that such a move would be contrary to basic principles of a modern capitalist society, Kojen stressed.
According to him, fear that Serbian police officers protecting churches, monasteries and monuments in Kosovo will be easy targets if Serbian amendments are accepted is ungrounded.
Kojen added that he invited Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica and President Boris Tadic to attend the meeting in Vienna on March 10.
