The National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY) held its 40th session today and decided to deliver thorough documentation thus answering nine requests of the Tribunal's prosecution, as well as to release twelve witnesses of their duty to remain silent during the cases led before the ICTY in The Hague.
The National Council says in a statement that eight requests submitted by the defence of the indictees received a positive response. The requests concern the delivery of documentation which the defence needs to prepare for the trial before the ICTY.
In the upcoming period the National Council will keep responding to ICTY's requests and requests of the indictees' defence with the aim of achieving full cooperation and fulfilling international obligations before this court, adds the statement.
