According to the statement, prices of goods are down by 0.7%, while the prices of services are higher by 2.3%.
The average cost of living in Serbia in January this year against the pervious month fell by 0.2%. The discrepancy between the increase in the index of retail prices and the cost of living index was due to different impacts of growth in prices for individual items on the overall index.
The prices of agricultural products increased by 0.1%. Prices of vegetables and fruits are customary for this season.
The average prices of industrial foodstuffs fell by 0.2%, in which sector an insignificant variation in prices was observed.
There was no change in the prices of beverages.
The price of tobacco remained on the same level as during the previous month.
The prices of non-food industrial products fell by 1.3% on average. In this sector there was a fall in prices of oil derivatives, while there was no significant variation in prices of other products in this group.
The average prices of services went up by 2.3%, and the growth of the index was mainly due to rise in cost of communal services.
