Speaking at the handing over ceremony, which was also attended by Serbian Assistant Minister of Health Goran Ilic, Shinada said that the donation includes an ambulance, two ECG units, a defibrillator, a unit for sterilisation and an aspirator, a lamp for medical examination of patients, ultra-sound apparatus, a monitor for patients and a respirator.
The Japanese First Secretary said that he hopes this medical equipment will make the work of doctors easier and provide quality treatment to patients in the Toplica District.
Ilic said that the health sector in Serbia is moving towards EU standards, and expressed expectation that Serbia will not need such assistance in the near future.
The Toplica health centre and hospital provide health care to four municipalities with more than a 100,000 users of health services in the Toplica District.
