Today on the third day of talks in Vienna, the negotiating teams from Belgrade and Pristina will state their positions and commentaries regarding Annexes 6 and 7, dealing with economy and property, of UN Special Envoy Martti Ahtisaari's proposal.
In a statement to the Beta news agency, coordinator of the Serbian state team for talks on Kosovo future status Slobodan Samardzic specified that today's meeting will concern property, the status of public and social companies, the debt towards Serbia and other economic issues concerning the cooperation between Serbia and Kosovo-Metohija.
Samardzic said he expects a tolerant discussion although the positions of Belgrade and Pristina delegations are diametrically opposed. He added that Belgrade will put forward and back with arguments a number of amendments to that part of Ahtisaari's proposal referring to property and economic issues.
According to Samardzic, the property issue is recognised by the entire world, especially when it comes to public and private property, and things are pretty bad in Kosovo-Metohija.
Samardzic stated that the Serbian state team will give a clear proposal today which would help resolve issues in this area in favour of Serbia, public companies and individuals.
After the break for the weekend, the talks will resume on February 27 with discussions of Annex 3 concerning decentralisation in the province.
