Constitution of Kosovo must be in harmony with Serbian Constitution

The Serbian state negotiating team for the talks on future status of Kosovo-Metohija insisted today, during the second day of negotiations in Vienna, that the future status of Kosovo-Metohija must be in harmony with the Serbian Constitution.

Today's discussion was almost completely dedicated to the Annex 1 of the proposal for the solution of Kosovo status, which deals with constitutional issues.
The Serbian delegation delivered a series of amendments which focus on integrating the future constitution of Kosovo into the existing constitutional and legal system of Serbia. The new constitution of the province should contain provisions on the province's status within Serbia, defined as substantial autonomy.
During the afternoon, the talks dealt with the rights of communities and the legal system of Kosovo.
The negotiations in the Austria Centre will be continued tomorrow, with a discussion on the Annexes 6 and 7 that deal with economic and ownership issues.
