The houses have been constructed in the area of Plavi Horizonti; the area of each house is 63 square metres, with electricity and water supply and sewage. Minister Ilic promised the Roma families who are to move into these houses that the street will be covered with asphalt shortly.
The Minister recalled that the Serbian government financed the construction of these houses with funds worth some RSD 16.8 million, and added that with the completion of construction on these houses all families whose houses were affected by flood damage in March last year have been provided with new homes.
He said that all other families whose houses were damaged or destroyed due to flooding and landslides throughout Serbia have been provided with new housing facilities.
The construction of houses in Plavi Horizonti began in August last year, and following preliminary works construction was completed within 90 days by the company GIK Banat.
Members of six Roma families, a total of 40 persons, the majority of whom are children, expressed satisfaction with the quality of their new homes, as well as gratitude to the Serbian government.
