Serbian Minister of Justice Zoran Stojkovic and Deputy Minister Branislav Bjelica met with the president of the Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption, Drago Kos, to discuss guidelines and priorities in combating corruption in Serbia.

The three officials discussed Serbia’s existing legislation and agreed that all the regulations in this field must be brought into line with CoE standards and the Criminal Law Convention on Corruption.
Stojkovic stressed that the Serbian government attaches great significance to this problem and that there is a political agreement on an urgent and energetic action to crack down on corruption. Stojkovic also pointed to the ministry’s readiness to give its full contribution to the fight against all forms of corruption.
Stojkovic and Kos also discussed the work of a working group tasked with drafting a national strategy and an action plan for fighting corruption.
