Madrid tourism fair visitors show considerable interest in Serbia

Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Services Bojan Dimitrijevic and Director of the Tourism Organisation of Serbia (TOS) Miodrag Popovic attended today the official opening of the International Tourism Fair FITUR 2007 in Madrid.
TOS said in a statement that the fair was officially opened by Spanish King Juan Carlos and added that by February 4, as many as 170 countries will be presented at the fair.
Minister Dimitrijevic met today with Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Francesco Frangialli and briefed him about the results of Serbian tourism in 2006, as well as plans for 2007.
TOS Director also attended the meeting at which special emphasis was put on investments which Serbian tourism needs, as well as on opportunities to include UNWTO experts when it comes to training people employed in the tourism sector in Serbia.
Commercials of Serbia in Spanish screened on CNN stirred huge interest in Serbia at the Madrid fair where visitors wanted to know more about Serbia's tourism offers, concludes the statement.
