After a two-hour telephone conversation with citizens in which the Minister responded to their questions, he told journalists that another problem is non-execution of sentences in 40% of cases.
He said that the Ministry of Justice, in association with the US Agency for International Development (USAID), has worked out an assistance programme which should improve the efficiency of domestic courts.
The Minister said that one of the ways to solve this problem is to organise permanent training of judges.
Stojkovic said that a law on judiciary academy is being prepared, which will largely contribute to training quality staff for the work in judiciary organs.
Most of the citizens who called today complained of the slowness of courts and non-execution of sentences, they expressed doubt in impartiality of judges, and expressed interest in the amnesty of recent convicts and political convicts from after the Second World War.
