On the occasion of putting up the first welcoming post in Serbia, as part of the project of putting up tourist signaling for which a €1 million has been set aside from the National Investment Plan (NIP), Dimitrijevic said that this is the first phase of the realisation of the project. The second phase will begin in four or five weeks and will include putting up tourist signaling in national parks and at historical monuments under international protection.
He explained that according to international standards, the posts will be brown with white inscriptions and will cover 10% of the most important monuments of culture in Serbia.
The Minister said that €10 million was used from NIP last year, and another €20 million will be used in the first three months of this year for tourist projects.
Over 90% of projects planned by NIP have been implemented, and the preparation of master plans for Soko Banja, Zlatibor, Zlatar, Vlasina and Golija are expected to begin in a few days, Dimitrijevic announced.
He said he is sorry that some domestic media expressed a negative opinion about
video commercials on Serbia's tourist offer on CNN.
I still believe that these videos are good for the country's political and general image. This deal is very favourable and according to the first results, 120 million people in Europe have watched these videos, the Minister said.
He said that the Ministry opted for this type of advertisement which is not too expensive on purpose and that results of the public reaction to this campaign will be released as soon as the Ministry obtains them.
