Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo and Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Services Bojan Dimitrijevic today laid a cornerstone of a ski resort on Mt Rudnik.
The construction of a 1,500 metre ski track and cable railway is being carried out as part of the Tourism Development Strategy and will be funded from the National Investment Plan.
Bubalo pointed to the importance of developing this mountain resort, only 100 kilometres away from Belgrade.
He said that the first construction stage at the Vijulje location should be completed before the next winter season, adding that it will cost around €1.3 million.
Dimitrijevic said that the construction of the ski centre on Rudnik will contribute to further regional development. He also announced new investments in road infrastructure and hotels on the mountain which would help Rudnik to become one of the most important tourist centres in Serbia.
