In a statement to the news agency Beta, Djuric said that he assumes Ahtisaari knows that it is the time of Christmas and it is completely unacceptable that during these days Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija are mistreated and forced to leave their homes, which is what happened to the Simic family.
He also questioned whether Ahtisaari will at least once protest against the mistreatment of Serbs, who are being victimized even now by members of the Kosovo Police Service (KPS).
According to Djuric, Ahtisaari’s persistent failure to condemn violence against Serbs and his silence at this moment when Serbs are being mistreated during Christmas holidays is nothing short of injustice, obvious to the public.
The Serbian government has until now several times, expressed expectation that Ahtisaari will condemn violence against Serbs, but after Ahtisaari’s persistent silence we expect nothing from him any more, said the Director of the Serbian government’s Office of Media Relations.
