Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica laid today in Ada a corner stone for a new bridge of the Tisa River that will link Ada and Padej, that is Banat and Backa.
Speaking on the occasion,
Kostunica said that bridges are symbols of connection and that the bridge in Ada will be a symbol of good relations between all peoples that live in Serbia and Vojvodina.
He said that this is an important investment for which funds have been set aside by the Serbian government and the Ada municipality and added that there will be aid from abroad as well.
The Serbian Prime Minister said that the bridge on the Tisa River will spur economic development and opening of new workplaces.

Velimir Ilic recalled that the Serbian government has so far built a dozen bridges in Serbia, as well as thousands of kilometres of roads.

Ilic said that the constriction of bridges near Vinca, on the Sava River leading to Republika Srpska and near Beska is underway, and that a highway leading to Horgos will be made.
President of Ada municipality Ferenc Irmenji said that as early as 1925 there was a discussion on whether a bridge or an Orthodox church should be made here and that it was decided unanimously to make the church.
The event was also attended by Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Zoran Loncar and Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo as well as the leadership of Ada municipality.
