Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica talked in Bucharest with Romanian President Traian Basescu who said that Romania remains strongly committed to principles of inviolability of borders and the respect of territorial integrity and sovereignty of existing states.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Kostunica said that Basescu stated that national minorities can only have individual rights and that there are no collective rights of national minorities because if they existed, then everyone in the world could refer to them and the map of the entire world would be redrawn.
The Serbian Prime Minister said that setting deadlines is not a good way for finding a sustainable solution for Kosovo-Metohija and voiced hope that the solution will be sought in line with its complexity.
He said that he was impressed with the strength of arguments and firmness of the position of the Romanian president concerning the resolution of so-called "frozen conflicts", and Kosovo-Metohija.
Kostunica acquainted Basescu with developments in Serbia after the adoption of the new Constitution and accession to the Partnership for Peace, and with the economic situation in the country.
