Popovic said after the meeting that all political, economic, legal and administrative elements for realisation of the Serbian government's donation of electricity have been harmonised.
He said that a technically complicated procedure for electricity delivery to more than 30,000 households is yet to be solved and added that if this technically untypical arrangement is harmonised at the technical level by December 19, an agreement on donation could be signed with UNMIK late next week.
Popovic explained that that agreement will be the legal basis for delivery of electricity, with which a humanitarian catastrophe will be averted.
He said that today's meeting was very constructive and concrete and that it is an example of how accumulated economic problems in Kosovo-Metohija can be solved with everyday dialogue and common efforts of the Serbian and ethnic Albanian sides and UNMIK, which is first of all in the interest of all citizens of Kosovo-Metohija.
The delegation of the Economic team at the meeting in Pristina included experts of the Serbian Ministry of Energy and Mining and the Serbian Electric Power Industry, the statement adds.
