Vojislav Kostunica
In a statement to the news agency Beta, Kostunica said that for Serbia the issue of the status of Kosovo-Metohija was resolved at the referendum, by the adoption of the new Constitution according to which the southern province is an unalienable part of Serbia.
He said that through this decision the people have given the world the message that Serbia does not and never will give away Kosovo-Metohija. He added that he is convinced that the international community has attentively heard the voice of Serbian citizens, and since we expressed necessary self-respect at the referendum, there is no doubt that we will receive the support we need from our friends.
The Serbian Prime Minister expressed conviction that Russia will not permit the Security Council to violate the UN Charter, and stressed that any attempt at determining the status of Kosovo-Metohija outside the Security Council will be the most brutal form of aggression and nothing but forcible seizure of territory.
I believe that something like that has not even occurred to anyone. Such ideas should particularly not occur to NATO member countries, considering the fact that they engaged in military action against our country, in brutal violation of international law, said Kostunica.
He pointed to the fact that it is perfectly clear that Albanians cannot have two countries that they can not create another state belonging to them on Serbian territory.
The ethnic-Albanian community can and will have the highest degree of autonomy, they will have substantial autonomy, on our territory, in Kosovo-Metohija, said Kostunica.
