Director of the Serbian government’s Office of Media Relations Srdjan Djuric asked today from UN Special Envoy Marti Ahtisaari to finally condemn Albanian separatists and their latest terrorist attack of blowing up the Zvecan-Kosovo Polje railroad.
Djuric told Tanjug that Ahtisaari’s persistent silence and avoiding to condemn Albanian terrorist attacks is incomprehensible.
Ahtisaari got his mandate from the UN to most severely condemn any violence, Djuric recalled noting that Ahtisaari’s mandate is nearing its end and that a new mediator will be appointed probably in mid-2007.
He stressed that the UN special envoy failed to even once condemn Albanian terrorism and that it is high time for him to do it now.
