State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy Zora Simovic handed over today in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Oscar of quality awards to the Institute for Manufacturing Banknotes and Coins in the category of large companies while Sabac-based Galeb Group got the prize among small and medium-sized enterprises.
The awards were also given to Kolubara Univerzal from Lazarevac for introduction of system of quality and Technical and Repair Institute from Kragujevac for strategy policy and human resources.
The Pharmacy Institution of Novi Sad received award for human resources management and costumer satisfaction, Voda Voda from Vrujci was also awarded for human resources, influence on society and business results, while the Institute for Medicinal Biochemistry from Belgrade received awards for costumer satisfaction.
Simovic said that the draft of the national strategy of economic development and the action plan for its implementation by 2012 will allow small and large companies to develop their business system management.
Director of the Accreditation Body Milos Jelic said that there are large changes ahead in this field, especially in 2008, when Serbia enters the World Trade Organisation (WTO) as many companies that have good quality systems for years will enter the Serbian market.
PKS Director Ljubisa Dimitrijevic said that the system of quality is the question of competitiveness without which we cannot count on regional market or the European market.
He also added that the Oscar of quality is granted under same criteria as the European Award for Quality.
