A high-level commemorative meeting dedicated to marking the 65th anniversary of the first conference of the Non-Aligned Movement will be held today and tomorrow in Belgrade.
Sixty-five years after the historic Belgrade Conference, the Serbian capital will once again host high-ranking representatives of the “historic core” of participants in the first conference in 1961, as well as representatives of the Movement’s current Troika – Azerbaijan, Uganda and Uzbekistan.
The forthcoming high-level commemorative meeting will provide an opportunity to reflect on the historical legacy of the Belgrade Conference and once again reaffirm the shared commitment to the Charter of the United Nations, international law and the spirit of multilateralism in the context of addressing global challenges.
