Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić highlighted today, following a meeting with Slovenian Minister of the Interior and Public Administration Franci Matoz, the need to improve police cooperation between the two countries.
At a joint news conference with Matoz, Dačić emphasised that Serbia has managed to drastically reduce the number of illegal migrants, while Slovenia is recording an increase in their numbers.
At the same time, he asked Slovenia to provide support for the establishment of the INTERPOL Regional Bureau in Belgrade.
Matoz emphasised that the meeting concluded that the relations between the two ministries and the police are good and continue to develop, stating that it is in Slovenia’s interest for this cooperation to proceed and strengthen.
He also announced the signing of an agreement on the prevention of human trafficking and child trafficking, which will make the fight against human trafficking more effective.
The Minister also praised the work of the police attachés of both sides, through whom information is exchanged, making cooperation, as he said, faster and more efficient.
