First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali announced today that the government has proposed raising the minimum wage in Serbia by 9.2% as of 1 January next year, in what would increase the monthly amount from RSD 64,554 to RSD 70,470.

Speaking at a news conference following a session of the Socio-Economic Council, at which the minimum hourly wage for 2027 was discussed, Mali emphasised that this is the latest step towards achieving the goal of bringing the minimum wage in Serbia to €650 per month by the end of next year.
With this increase in the minimum wage, we will reach 117% coverage of the minimum consumer basket, he said.
Mali added that the non-taxable portion of income would also be raised by 9.2%, matching the percentage increase in the minimum wage, and he noted that the minimum hourly wage is set to rise from RSD 371 to RSD 405.
The Minister explained that, provided everything goes well in terms of preparations, the government could adopt such a decision at its next session, allowing both employers and employees sufficient time to prepare for it.
