Dačić emphasised that members of the Emergency Situations Sector, with the support of the Ministry of the Interior’s Helicopter Unit, the Serbian Armed Forces, public enterprises and volunteer fire brigades, are continuously engaged in fighting fires at several locations in Serbia.
The Deputy Prime Minister specified that the situation at the fire site in Deliblato Sands remains unchanged compared with the previous period.
Speaking about the fire on Mt. Stolovi near Kraljevo, he stated that the fire had affected around 200 hectares of extremely inaccessible and rocky terrain, that it was spreading at ground level and that no buildings, households or infrastructure were threatened.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the fire above Lake Bovan in the municipality of Aleksinac had been brought under control, recalling that a man suspected of causing the fire through his activities had been arrested.
I call on citizens to exercise extreme caution and not to light fires in open spaces, and to perceive any irresponsible behaviour that could lead to a fire as directly endangering human life, property and nature, Dačić said.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to all firefighters-rescuers, pilots of the Helicopter Unit, members of the Serbian Armed Forces, public enterprises and volunteer fire brigades for their dedication and perseverance in fighting the fires.
