Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior in a caretaker capacity Ivica Dačić began his official visit to Moscow with a meeting with State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Zubov, with whom he discussed the impact of global threats on the current situation in the world.

During a constructive discussion, Dačić and Zubov noted that bilateral relations between the two countries have traditionally been friendly, while the ties between peoples are fraternal. They expressed their readiness to intensify contacts at senior and highest levels with a view to further deepening and strengthening comprehensive relations and cooperation.
Referring to his visit to the Russian Federation in 2009, during which the fundamental Agreement on Cooperation between the two ministries was signed, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation achieved, describing it as highly successful at both strategic and operational levels. He also highlighted the mutual support provided by the two countries in international institutions.
The interlocutors noted that there was scope for enhancing cooperation between the two police forces in a number of areas, particularly in combating organised crime, cybercrime and human trafficking.
Dačić thanked Zubov for the Russian Federation’s principled and consistent position on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, according to a statement by the Ministry of the Interior.
