Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior in a caretaker capacity Ivica Dačić held talks today in Moscow with Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu.
Dačić and Shoigu noted that bilateral relations between the two countries are at an exceptionally high level, rooted in historical closeness and mutual trust.
The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the long-standing, friendly, and successful bilateral relations between Serbia and the Russian Federation, which are based on a strategic partnership and understanding.
The interlocutors gave special attention to the Serbian-Russian Humanitarian Centre (SRHC) in Niš, which Dačić and Shoigu co-founded and inaugurated, and which will mark its 15th anniversary of successful operation in April of next year.
Both sides concluded that close cooperation in the fields of security and defence will continue in the period ahead, through regular dialogue and the ongoing exchange of experience, with the aim of further preserving stability and peace.
Dačić had previously held talks with Director of the Federal Protective Service of the Russian Federation Army General Dmitry Kochnev regarding modalities for cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior and that service.
Dačić emphasised that the Serbian Ministry of the Interior places great importance on the professional development of police officers, particularly members of the Unit for the Protection of Designated Persons and Facilities.
